Website publishing service refers to connecting the website server to the network so that other users can access the website through the network (internet, school intranet). The website is usually equipped with a unique address that can be accessed by people, such as www.hhu.edu.cn. And this address is called the domain name of the website.

The main function of the domain name system is to map the host domain name and the host's IP address, so that people can access the internet easily without having to remember the IP number string that can be directly read by the machine.

The domain name of our school is hhu.edu.cn. Based on which, it can establish a lower-level domain name. For example, the domain name of the school homepage is www.hhu.edu.cn, and the domain name of the network and information center is hhic.hhu. edu.cn, etc., so that users don’t need to remember the IP addresses of these two websites, but only need to remember the domain names, and when they see the domain name ending with .hhu.edu.cn, they can tell that the website belongs to Hohai University.

After the content of the website is established, all schools and departments in the university can apply for domain name service based on hhu.edu.cn to publish the website to the internet.

Application Procedures

Download the 'Website Publishing Application Form of Hohai University' and print it in duplicate

Fill in the Annex, which will be signed and sealed by the responsible person

Send the form to the Nework Information Center (Network Library) for approval by the leaders of the Network Information Center.

Open the domain name, officially publish the website, and register the website for the record.
